Palworld PS5 save game issues are solved, but some players will need to delete their files

Pocketpair has been looking into problems with unsaved games in Palworld on PS5 and discovered the source of the issue: An excessive amount of save files, including automatic saves and backups, can lead to a system error on the PS5 backend. This error prevents the game from saving and potentially damages data. Pocketpair acknowledged this issue, saying, “We accept responsibility for this problem, and we’re sorry to our players for the inconvenience and frustration it has caused.

On July 10, 2025, an update for Palworld is scheduled to roll out. This update will introduce a change specifically for PlayStation 5 users: they’ll now be able to save their games in up to ten slots. Furthermore, enhancements to the overall save game system are planned.

Pocketpair advised that those who have over ten saved games shouldn’t lose their extra files. However, users experiencing error codes CE-100022-5 or CE-100096-6 might continue to face similar problems in the future, unless they delete all of their save files. It appears that the data from players encountering these specific errors has become irreversibly corrupted.

As a gamer, I’m sorry to break it to you, but when encountering this issue, the best course of action for you is to wipe out your entire Palworld save data prior to jumping back in. This comes directly from Pocketpair.

Palworld recently got a major update featuring its Terraria crossover.
