Justin Baldoni‘s legal representative, Brayan Freedman, is making every effort to shield his client from Blake Lively’s sexual harassment accusations. He has initiated a lawsuit worth $250 million against The New York Times on Baldoni’s behalf, claiming that the newspaper collaborated with the actress and her public relations team to create false narratives against him.
Just this past week, the actor and director from It Ends With Us filed a $400 million defamation and extortion lawsuit against his co-star, Ryan Reynolds, and his wife. More recently, the lawyer involved shared a 10-minute video clip showing Baldoni and Lively engaging in conversation during filming, but it didn’t appear to be related to their characters.
Freedman made public the video, which suggested mutual closeness between the two individuals, aiming to refute accusations of sexual misconduct. However, it’s worth noting that one of Hollywood’s most contentiously debated lawyers has found himself at odds with Baldoni in a separate case, as he represents another client.
This version maintains the original meaning while using less formal language and rephrasing some phrases for clarity and easier readability.
In an earlier undiscussed incident that’s now resolved, he represented a person with cystic fibrosis who featured in the documentary series “My Last Days,” produced and presented by Baldoni. The defendant, Travis Flores, alleged that Baldoni had taken the plot of his heart-wrenching script titled “Three Feet Distance.
He asserted that Baldoni’s first directorial film, Five Feet Apart (starring Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu), was a duplication of his initial concept. He stated that the production, focusing on young lovers battling cystic fibrosis, had been under development with a company connected to Universal Pictures.
It is claimed that a common acquaintance provided the screenplay to Baldoni and other team members involved in the production. The lawsuit argued that there were numerous instances of copyright violation, as both projects’ storylines, characters, and themes bore striking resemblances.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share the heartwarming story behind the movie, “Five Feet Apart.” This film, which garnered a staggering $92 million at the box office on a modest $7 million budget, was dedicated to the extraordinary Claire Wineland – another brave soul battling cystic fibrosis, whose life journey was highlighted in My Last Days. The legal case surrounding this tribute was eventually resolved, and the movie continues to inspire us all.
