Ariana Grande Confirms Which Sex and the City Star Makes a Secret Cameo in Wicked Movie: ‘He Has One Line’

Ariana Grande revealed intriguing backstage details in the supplementary digital content of the film musical Wicked, which is now accessible on various online platforms. It appears that a cast member from Sex and the City has discreetly become part of the hit musical production.

It was revealed that David Eigenberg, known for playing Cynthia Nixon’s character’s boyfriend-turned-estranged-husband Steve Brady in Sex and the City, was actually the voice actor behind the Tamarin Monkey in the production of Wicked.

Grandé, the actress playing Glinda the Good Witch, recounted that Eigenberg’s character delivered her favorite line from the entire production, a quote she still remembers to this day.

Ariana Grande, the artist behind the popular song “Thank U, Next,” commented, “Apparently, that’s Steve from Sex and the City. He briefly appears. His single line is the standout moment in the entire production – it’s a tiny Tamarin Monkey.

In the movie, Eigenberg delivered only a single line. His line read, “A lawyer was fired merely for presenting an argument.” Ariana attempted to mimic his gravelly voice as she praised his brief appearance in the film.

The scene unfolds approximately 42 minutes into the movie, where Elphaba (played by Cynthia Erivo) pays a visit to her professor, Dr. Dillamond, who is a goat and is voiced by Peter Dinklage. Their conversation revolves around the mistreatment of talking animals in Oz, an essential aspect of the narrative’s development.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo shared some untold stories from behind the scenes. Ariana revealed that she injured her neck during performances of her signature Glinda hair flip. On the other hand, Cynthia reminisced about the awkwardness of filming the scene where her character is mocked by peers in the ballroom.

Fans can now stream Wicked on digital platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV+.
