Ryan Gosling May Star in Shawn Levy’s STAR WARS Film

Since the release of “The Rise of Skywalker” more than five years ago, Lucasfilm has unveiled numerous “Star Wars” movie projects. So far, only “The Mandalorian and Grogu” have entered production out of all the announced films. One of these potentials was set to be directed by Shawn Levy, known for directing “Deadpool” and “Wolverine”. Information about this project has been scarce until now. According to “The Hollywood Reporter”, Lucasfilm is speeding up the production of Levy’s “Star Wars” film, and they are considering Ryan Gosling for the lead role. It seems those “Ken as a Jedi” cosplays from last summer might have been onto something!

Regarding the plot of the upcoming Star Wars movie, it remains uncertain. Shawn Levy, who has been working on this Star Wars project since approximately 2022 with Jonathan Tropper, is at the helm. Tropper has previously collaborated with Levy on films like “This Is Where I Leave You” and “The Adam Project”. The script for this movie has been in development for over a year. Levy’s 21 Laps production company is producing the film, along with Kathleen Kennedy and Lucasfilm. It may be that this Star Wars film is simply more advanced than the potential Rey movie or James Mangold’s “Jedi Origins” project.

The location and timeline for this “Star Wars” movie remain a great enigma. Is it set during the Republic, Rebellion, or Resistance era? It could be significantly before or after the Skywalker Saga’s timeframe. Regarding Levy’s film, it won’t have a direct link to the tales of Anakin, Luke, or Rey Skywalker. If produced, we hope Levy’s movie will take us to a future “Star Wars” universe that surpasses anything we’ve experienced thus far.
