Next time you see Alex on the screen in the series “1923”, she’s expected to exude an air of nobility. Interestingly, it was unveiled at the end of the season that Alex is none other than the Countess of Sussex.

During a high-tension scenario, as Spencer was being escorted away from a sea vessel, the Earl of Sussex raised doubts about the legitimacy of their union, insisting that Alex could not depart with Spencer.

For Spencer and the crowd, it was a shocking instance. It turns out that although the character Alex is not modeled after a real person, there truly existed an Alexandra, the Countess of Sussex, portrayed by Julia Schlaepfer in the series.

During casting, Taylor Sheridan, the creator, made it clear that while the show isn’t striving for absolute historical accuracy, it still aims to portray an authentic and compelling narrative.

Schlaepfer told TVLine that Alex didn’t conceal her regal lineage; instead, she chose not to dwell on it. According to Schlaepfer, ‘She doesn’t think about being royalty because she doesn’t want the title.’ Alex had been under the control of her family, but upon meeting Spencer, she found a way out and chose to move past it all.

The actress became so engrossed in her character that she momentarily overlooked Alex’s royal position until the end of the storyline. In contrast, it appears that Spencer doesn’t place much importance on his wife’s noble heritage. Brandon Sklenar, portraying Spencer, expressed this sentiment by stating, “I don’t believe he cares at all.

In the second season, starting on February 23, Alex will continue to dedicate herself to her fresh start with the Dutton family, showing her allegiance and commitment. There’s a suggestion that the family might expand, as both Schlaepfer and Sklenar hinted at the prospect of Alex being pregnant.
