Marvel Reportedly Has Plans For Two Animated Films Focusing on Power Pack and Kid Kaiju!

2023 was quite a challenging year for me as a diehard Marvel Studios fan. Kicking off the Multiverse Saga didn’t have the anticipated buzz, and ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ fell short of expectations at the box office. The highly anticipated series, ‘Secret Invasion,’ based on a beloved comic storyline, was met with a lukewarm response. The only silver lining was ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3,’ which turned out to be a hit, while ‘The Marvels’ marked the lowest-grossing Marvel movie in history for me.

Last year saw a significant improvement in our status, particularly with the debut of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ and especially ‘X-Men ’97.’ Notably, ‘X-Men ’97’ emerged as our studio’s highest-rated production to date, while the third installment of ‘Deadpool’ ranked as the second-highest-grossing film in 2024.

The triumph of ‘X-Men ’97’ sparked predictions that the studio might concentrate on creating more animated content in the future. This assumption was also fueled by the fact that we have three animated shows scheduled for release this year: ‘Marvel Zombies,’ ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,’ and ‘Eyes of Wakanda.’

According to a well-known industry expert, Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios might be venturing into the world of animated movies. It’s being suggested that two characters, Power Pack and Kid Kaiju, could potentially star in their own animated films. Richtman shared this information on his Patreon page.

The Power Pack team consists of a family of children ranging from 8 to 14 years old in Marvel Comics. They acquire their superpowers from an extraterrestrial named Aelfyre Whitemane. These youngsters employ their abilities to safeguard the planet against various dangers.

Every sibling possesses a distinct skillset, and collectively, they make up a formidable team, frequently encountering challenges as they juggle their double lives as superheroes with being regular kids. At present, the team consists of Energizer, Lightspeed, Mass Master, and Zero-G, who serves as the group’s leader.

Kid Kaiju, or Kei Kawade in real life, is a young enthusiast of monsters who acquired the power to bring to life the monsters he drew upon experiencing Terrigenesis and transforming into a NuHuman. Due to the monstrous entities following him, Kei and his family had to relocate frequently across the United States. Eventually, he summoned creatures such as Fin Fang Foom to combat the Leviathon Tide, an international monster uprising.
