Joe Alwyn Reveals Bloody Childhood Prank That Left His Neighbors In Tears And Police Involved

On The Drew Barrymore Show last Friday, Joe Alwyn, recognized for his performances in films such as The Favourite and The Brutalist, divulged a heartfelt tale from his youth that left an indelible impression.

Back in his eighth birthday, Alwyn shared an amusing story about a playful trick he once played that surprisingly took a startling twist. (Dated Taylor Swift from 2017 to 2023)

As a kid, around eight years old, I found myself brimming with mischief and came up with an entertaining scheme to play a trick on our neighbors. My older brother Thomas and I penned letters that were part prank, part threat, then coated them in fake blood from the toy store before delivering one to each mailbox on our block.

The joke initially started as harmless fun but soon grew out of control. As Alwyn recounted, “My parents returned from their walk with the dog, and the phone began to ring.” A neighbor had phoned in worry, questioning if they had received one of the troubling letters. At first, the siblings found the escalating confusion entertaining.

He confessed that they found it amusingly effective, but soon their joy turned into apprehension as they observed things going awry. As the scene unfolded, the street swarmed with residents from the entire neighborhood, weeping, shouting, and expressing concern, a memory he recounted vividly.

The situation escalated significantly as law enforcement officials were summoned. “Believe me, I’m not kidding,” Alwyn emphasized. Soon enough, officers showed up at the location, with even Scotland Yard allegedly briefed about it. Eventually, Alwyn and his brother owned up to their actions, confessing both to their parents and the authorities.

In my account, I can’t recall exactly what the officer shouted at me, but it was something along the lines of “they” yelled at me. To give you some context, I honestly believed that I could end up getting arrested because of the prank. Fortunately, despite the tense situation, everything worked out without any significant repercussions in the end.
