‘Silo’ Season 3 Is Being Filmed, While Season 4 Has Already Been Written Completely

In simple terms, the finale of Season 2 from the series “Silo,” streaming on Apple TV+, left viewers spellbound with a major plot twist. Instead of ending in the present, it took us back 140 years to show how life was before the silos were constructed. This unexpected move only adds to the enigmas that are yet to be unraveled in the upcoming seasons.

In Season 3, Ashley Zuckerman and Jessica Henwick will become part of the main cast. Fans can anticipate delving deeper into the backstory of the silos. As revealed by showrunner Graham Yost, the show’s plot has been carefully planned since its inception.

He told TheWrap that they had been granted approval to finish the whole adaption of Hugh Howey’s books as part of Season 1.

In approximately five weeks during the first season, Yost revealed that they had a clear understanding they would conclude the entire narrative. Although the official announcement for more seasons occurred later, Apple had previously given them permission to proceed thanks to the impressive viewer reaction.

The preparation for the series has been meticulous, leading us directly into the filming of Season 3, while the scripts for a potential Season 4 have already been written.

Initially, the creators thought about extending certain plotlines, but ultimately chose not to do so. In terms of their artistic choices, Yost stated that they contemplated how much information to disclose in each scene. Although the series is based on Hugh Howey’s novels, there are modifications—such as altering character names and histories to better suit the television show.

Regarding the ending of the series, Yost chose not to reveal any details. Although the finale script has been completed, viewers will need to tune in to find out how it all ends. The team, collaborating closely even remotely via Zoom, have developed a distinctive and emotional writing experience that has brought everyone closer together.
