In a shared interview with actress Keke Palmer and the movie’s producer, Issa Rae, SZA expressed that it was quite an adventure, yet she gained a tremendous amount of knowledge.
The singer of “The Good Days” admitted that she must work on enhancing her self-assurance as an actor. She explained that looking at herself from a fresh perspective, one unrelated to her personal expression, felt surprisingly cool and relevant to her acting journey.
According to SZA, there’s one requirement for her taking on more acting roles: she wants to be mentored by her co-star Palmer in the process. If this condition is met, she might explore acting further.
As stated by the actress from the film “Nope”, SZA doesn’t require coaching. During their joint audition, Palmer was astonished by SZA’s natural talent. She expressed her surprise at this remarkable skill.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the castings were finalized following a 2022 SNL episode where the pair made an appearance together. Palmer admitted to Rae that he hadn’t seen this particular episode.
Rae indicated that she indeed watched it later, and she shared her feelings: “The SNL duo was simply the cherry on top. I’ve been a long-time admirer of Keke, while SZA served as my inspiration for ‘Insecure’, particularly the second season. To experience this entire journey culminating in such a way [was] truly a blessing.
One Of Them Days is slated to be released on January 17, 2025.
