Whitney Cummings Says THIS Celebrity Helped Her Through Postpartum Depression; READ

Whitney Cummings doesn’t shy away from discussing difficult moments she encountered and acknowledging the individuals who supported her during those times. Much like this, the comedian and actress opened up about her postpartum depression and the person who aided her in overcoming it – none other than Drew Barrymore.

On Thursday, January 16th, Cummings appeared as a guest on Barrymore’s talk show. During this visit, she shared that she was deeply struggling with postpartum depression when she was requested to join The Wedding Singer actress on Hollywood Squares.

After learning that Barrymore was going to be part of the show as well, she chose to participate in the episode, stating that this decision helped pull her out of a funk and provided significant assistance for her.

Cummins expressed that seeing other mothers either working or enjoying themselves was something she felt compelled to experience, and this moment turned out to be incredibly impactful and healing for her. The star of “The Female Brain” further explained that she had been placing a lot of self-imposed pressure on herself, but witnessing this helped her immensely in letting go of those pressures.

Cummins admitted that she understood they’d find a way to turn any mistakes into humor, and she felt confident enough to make those mistakes without worrying about the consequences. However, she also mentioned that it was perfectly alright if she wasn’t comfortable doing so.

As a die-hard fan, I’d rephrase it like this: I, being utterly smitten with the comedian, share her candid revelation about self-definition. She confessed that humor, intelligence, quick wit, and memory were integral to her identity – and on some days, her brain just wouldn’t cooperate. Terrified by this realization, she admitted to her fear.

Barringer, mother of daughters Olive and Frankie with her former husband, Will Kopelman, opened up about her postpartum journey. This seasoned performer admitted to feeling seclusion and being uncertain about her emotional state, describing it as a chemical imbalance.

Barrymore articulated, “After having my children, I experienced a deep, stunning confusion in the most exquisite manner.” She further explained that she found herself uncertain about her identity and thus struggled to navigate who she was supposed to be and how to function accordingly.

The artist expressed that she no longer seemed to connect with her friends in the same manner as before.
