In a recent statement, actress Kat Dennings expressed that Tim Allen is her preferred on-screen paternal figure. On TV’s newest ABC comedy series, Shifting Gears, they portray a father and his long-lost daughter.
During an interview with People, Dennings shared that she had a great time collaborating with Allen on the television series. In this sitcom, Allen portrays her father – a widower who manages a car repair shop. As the narrative progresses, he finds himself reluctantly accommodating his long-lost daughter [Dennings] and her offspring.
Actress from Two Broke Girls stated, “Tim Allen is undoubtedly my top pick for the best TV father ever. Working on this series has truly been a delightful experience.
Denning, aged 38, admires Allen not only professionally but personally as well. She appreciates the solid team he surrounds himself with. Many of these crew members have worked with him since Home Improvement, extending to Last Man Standing. This consistency in collaborators, she believes, reflects positively on his character and professionalism.
In her interview, the actress from Dollface praised Allen for keeping the same team throughout his various projects. She believes this speaks volumes about him as an individual.
She noted that there’s an amusing interplay between the two characters on-screen, often highlighted by their frequent, good-natured quarrels in several humorous scenes. The actress portraying Thor commented, “Our dialogue exchanges are quite humorous. We genuinely enjoy these scenes where we argue. It’s a lot of fun.
As a devoted admirer who grew up watching Tim Allen in The Santa Claus films and Toy Story, I found it utterly captivating to be given the opportunity to collaborate with him. To me, he was an integral part of my formative years, so working alongside him felt incredibly surreal – yet, in a delightful manner because he’s such a warm and kind individual.
