Justin Baldoni Wants to Prove That ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’s Nicepool Was Based on Him – His Lawyer Demanded Marvel & Disney to Give All Documents Related to the Development of the Character

It appears the situation involving Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively remains unresolved, and now it seems that Ryan Reynolds’ portrayal of Deadpool in Marvel and Disney’s productions could be at the center of a disagreement. Allegations suggest that Reynolds may have used his character to jab at Baldoni.

Lawyer for Baldoni, Bryan Freedman, has issued a request for preservation of all records associated with the character Nicepool, from the movie, to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Disney CEO Bob Iger. This was done by sending a litigation hold letter.

As a passionate admirer, I can’t help but ponder Freedman’s assertion that the character Nicepool, portrayed by Gordon Reynolds in a certain production, might be more than just a casual jibe at Baldoni’s self-declared feminist image and the rumored comments he made about Lively’s post-pregnancy body during the filming of “It Ends with Us.” It certainly seems intriguing to explore this perspective!

The movie titled “It Ends with Us,” produced by Sony, is currently embroiled in a heated legal conflict. Lively has accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and fostering a toxic work environment. Additionally, she stated that Baldoni criticized her postpartum weight, escalating their public argument into a bitter one. The controversy took an unexpected turn as claims emerged that Reynolds carried the drama over to his Marvel film, which Disney distributed.

In a scene that stirred debate, Reynolds’ character, Nicepool, made humorous remarks about Lively’s character, Ladypool, focusing on her post-pregnancy body. At one instance, Nicepool, who sports a hairstyle reminiscent of Baldoni’s iconic man bun, jokingly proposed starting a podcast that profits off the women’s movement. Baldoni’s camp perceives these remarks as not merely coincidental, but intentional jabs directed at their client.

To date, neither Marvel, Disney, nor their respective actors (Lively and Reynolds) have publicly responded to these allegations. Conversely, Freedman has spoken up, hinting at potential legal action in the future.

It’s yet unclear if the courts will consider Nicepool as a deliberate ridicule. However, what started as a local disagreement between Lively and Baldoni has now escalated to involve influential figures in the wider Hollywood community.
