Marvel: World War Hulk Rumors Swirling Again

It’s being speculated once more that Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios might be planning to produce a film based on the storyline, “World War Hulk.

What does the rumor say?

It’s been reported by World of Reel (a few days back) that although it’s not yet confirmed, there are plans to shoot the movie titled “World War Hulk” towards the end of this year.

It’s been suggested that Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as the Hulk and that “Captain America: Brave New World” could lay the groundwork for the storyline “World War Hulk” within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s also mentioned that “Thunderbolts” might tie things together, potentially leading to the MCU’s inaugural solo Hulk film. However, it’s important to note that Ruffalo or the Hulk aren’t confirmed to appear in either “Captain America: Brave New World” or “Thunderbolts,” so it remains unclear how these films will connect to the Hulk. Harrison Ford has been cast as Red Hulk, but his role in “Thunderbolts” and any other MCU appearances have yet to be confirmed.

The website mentions that Feige has contacted various directors for the role of directing World War Hulk, one of whom is George Miller, who shows interest in collaborating again with Chris Hemsworth on Thor 5. According to the site, it was Hemsworth who arranged a meeting between Miller and Feige, as Hemsworth has recently worked with Miller on Furiosa.

How will World War Hulk work in the MCU?

Upon reflecting, it seems the Hulk portrayal in the MCU so far has been a significant letdown for me as an avid comic book fan, especially since I’ve collected every issue of “World War Hulk.” It appears that Feige and Ruffalo have not fully grasped the Hulk’s potential in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the Marvel comics, a band of superheroes exile the Hulk into outer space, where he lands on the harsh planet Sakaar. Far from being silly, this adventure is downright fantastic! On Sakaar, the Hulk cannot transform back into Bruce Banner due to the extreme danger. Instead, a new personality arises, and this is the most formidable version of the Hulk yet. During his time on Sakaar, he falls in love with Caiera. Tragically, she meets her end at the hands of the very same spaceship that sent the Hulk away. Enraged by her demise, the Hulk, accompanied by his Warbound, returns to Earth seeking vengeance and chaos – and boy, does he deliver! This is an incredible tale indeed.

In a lighter tone, one could rephrase as follows: Rather than taking Planet Hulk seriously in Thor: Ragnarok, Kevin Feige’s Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) chose to inject humor into it. Subsequently, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, along with his offspring Skaar, made a humorous appearance in She-Hulk. In the comics, Skaar is as tough and formidable as his father. It’s puzzling how the MCU will portray the epic event of World War Hulk justicefully. It seems quite unexpected that the Hulk, who had a child-like intellect on Sakaar, fathered a son. One might wonder if there was some unconventional means of reproduction involved, or perhaps even coercion? This development is hard to reconcile with the idea of the Hulk engaging in fights against street-level heroes like Punisher and Daredevil.
