The Weeknd Raves About Jenna Ortega’s Natural Acting Skills in Hurry Up Tomorrow

In simpler terms, The Weeknd highly complimented Jenna Ortega’s acting in the forthcoming psychological thriller “Hurry Up Tomorrow.” This film is directed by Trey Edward Shults and is inspired by The Weeknd’s album.

In his own words, as both the songwriter for “Blinding Lights” and the actor, the artist praised Ortega’s performance, noting that it skillfully added layers of depth to each scene.

During filming, there was one tricky moment that both The Weeknd and the director found difficult to navigate. They weren’t sure how it would play out visually, but they were amazed when the actress portraying Wednesday seamlessly took control of the scene.

During an interview with Variety, the well-known singer shared that there was a moment when they and Trey looked at one another, thinking, “This idea seems too absurd for words – how could it possibly work on screen?

Yet, it was then when Ortega intervened. “Jenna added such richness to the role,” the Idol’s star enthused. “She suggested, ‘I have an idea.’ She spearheaded that entire scene – none of it was rehearsed beforehand, and many of my responses in it were not scripted,” he clarified.

Jenna Ortega, currently basking in popularity after her role in Netflix’s Wednesday, admitted she never anticipated things would be this great and expressed gratitude towards divine blessings for the chances bestowed upon her. Additionally, she praised The Weeknd, highlighting his kind and accommodating demeanor on set.

Hurry Up Tomorrow is slated for a May 16, 2025, release.
