As a passionate movie critic, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of Sebastian Stan‘s latest project, “Thunderbolts.” What sets this Marvel Cinematic Universe film apart is its assembly of an intriguing ensemble of antiheroes, comprising Ghost, Red Guardian, U.S. Agent, Yelena Belova, and none other than the Winter Soldier himself. The stellar cast boasts acting heavyweights like Florence Pugh, David Harbour, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, which promises a thrilling and dynamic cinematic experience for audiences everywhere.
In an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Stan commented on the unique atmosphere of the movie, stating, “We’re essentially a team apart, if you will, like our own little isolated group.” He also complimented his fellow actors, referring to Wyatt Russell and David Harbour as “some of the most hilarious individuals” and expressing anticipation about audience reactions. “I believe it will be quite enjoyable,” he concluded.
Apart from discussing “Thunderbolts”, Stan delved into his extensive voyage within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Initially, he was Bucky Barnes in “Captain America: The First Avenger”. Over time, he evolved from being Steve Rogers’ faithful companion to the intricate antihero known as the Winter Soldier. Stan has graced numerous MCU blockbusters and shared screen space with other stars in the Disney+ series titled “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”.
During a conversation with Meyers, Stan reminisced about his 15-year journey in the MCU, saying “It’s truly humbling… I’ve grown up alongside Marvel, both as an actor and as this character. In a sense, it feels like I have a brother, or a family member I see every Thanksgiving.” He gratefully acknowledged the support he’s received, confessing, “Without them, honestly, I don’t think I would have had the courage to take these risks. I consider myself lucky.
In addition to discussing the challenges of reprising his role in Thunderbolts, Stan reminisced about a previous photo of himself without a shirt from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Laughingly, he commented, “Reminds me of the good old days. I’m still striving to get back into that shape – I’m not sure it will be possible at 42 years old.
