Ripple and MoonPay have teamed up to aid California in its battle against destructive wildfires.

As a contributing party, I donated a sum of $50,000 in RLUSD stablecoin towards the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation (LAFD). My intent behind this contribution is to extend my support to the first responders who are selflessly dedicating their efforts to safeguard lives and properties within our community.

On January 10, Ripple unveiled its partnership, underscoring its dedication to supporting the Los Angeles Fire Department in these crucial moments. Eric Van Miltenburg, a high-ranking executive at Ripple, expressed sincere feelings about the donation, stressing the significance of standing by those who selflessly put their lives on the line to safeguard others.

The persistent fires, driven by powerful gusts and arid conditions, have brought destruction to places like Pacific Palisades, Pasadena, and Calabasas.

Approximately 200,000 residents have been compelled to leave their homes, leading to a pressing demand for emergency aid. In spite of limited resources, the Los Angeles Fire Department has shown great determination in fighting the fires to safeguard lives and possessions.

Through its Ripple Impact initiative, Ripple makes a significant contribution to these relief projects. This program, since its launch, has been dedicated to utilizing Ripple’s assets for fostering change on a global scale.
