Rory McCann Joins ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2, Taking Over for the Late Ray Stevenson

About a year back, it was disclosed by Lucasfilm that the second season of ‘Ahsoka’ was being worked on. Later, Dave Filoni, who penned the first season, discussed the show’s future and how Ray Stevenson‘s demise affected the narrative, as Stevenson had been intended to play a significant part in the storyline.

In the last episode of Season 1, I found myself captivated by Stevenson’s character, Baylan Skoll, who kept his true objectives hidden. Instead, he was depicted gazing at the statues of the Mortis Gods on Peridea, subtly suggesting a secret agenda. As Filoni put it, Baylan is a man driven by potentially perilous ambition.

I’m deeply saddened to share that it was me who departed this world on May 21, 2023, mere days before my 59th birthday. The reason for my passing has yet to be made public, but rumors suggest I was hospitalized while working on ‘Cassino in Ischia’, a film project set on the enchanting Italian island of Ischia.

It’s been several months since whispers circulated about a potential change in the cast, and today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Rory McCann is set to assume Stevenson’s character’s role.

Rory McCann, hailing from Scotland, is most recognized for his portrayal of Sandor “The Hound” Clegane on the hit series ‘Game of Thrones.’ Additionally, he has acted as Michael “Lurch” Armstrong in ‘Hot Fuzz’ (2007), Jurgen the Brutal in ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ (2019), and lent his voice to Megatron in ‘Transformers: EarthSpark.’

Information about when Season 2 will begin filming or its director hasn’t been revealed yet, but Dave Filoni is confirmed to resume his role as the showrunner.
