Drew Barrymore appreciates her close girlfriends for standing by her during all her ups and downs, even offering essential support following a difficult breakup.
On her self-titled talk show on January 8th, Actress Drew Barrymore, aged 49, conversed with Julianne Moore from “The Room Next Door.” They discussed Julianne’s long-standing female friendships. Barrymore expressed that these relationships might have provided the most substantial foundation in her life.
She put it this way: “The majority of my friends have been in my life for 30 to 40 years, which means they’ll be turning 50 soon. So, it feels like I’ve known these people for most of my life. I trust them completely, and they’re incredibly honest with me. They’ve witnessed my past and future.
Barrymore mentioned that her close female relationships often took on the roles which a conventional family was intended to provide for her, and whenever there was a gap, they were always ready to step in and fulfill that emptiness.
In a more natural and easier-to-understand phrasing, “Moore, aged 64, supported Barrymore’s ideas by stating that good friends, especially women, are always concerned about your well-being and happiness.
Barrymore stated, “It’s a lot simpler to move past heartache. Whenever I’ve ever been rejected, the first person I call is my friends. They help make it all less challenging.
In the past, I’ve shared that my dear friend and fellow Charlie’s Angels star, Lucy Liu, was there for me during a difficult time following a heartbreaking breakup. On an episode of my show airing November 18, 2024, I reminisced about how Lucy once found me hiding in the bushes after our romantic paths diverged.
Liu, who was on Barrymore’s show promoting her Christmas film Red One, stated, “She gave the gate a call while concealed, and I emerged. I exclaimed, ‘It seems strange, there appears to be no one here,'” Liu continued, speaking directly to her friend, “And then, as if emerging from bushes adorned with leaves in your hair, you declared, ‘I don’t want him to catch me here.’ Do you recall that moment?
Barrymore conveyed to her listeners that she was experiencing a painful breakup and feeling low, expressing her desire to spend the evening at Liu’s place.
She said then that there’s no solace like having girlfriends during heartbreak. I hope it’s your male friends who invite you out, ‘Let’s hang out, I’ll treat you to a drink.’
