Wicked’s Cynthia Erivo Wants To Play The MCU’s Storm

After the success of “Wicked”, it’s been reported that Cynthia Erivo is aiming for a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically as the character Storm from the X-Men.

In a recent conversation, an interviewer queries Cynthia Erivo about a potential dream role she desires to bring to life, and here’s her response:

“Has there been another part you’ve longed to play in your acting career?” the interviewer asks, to which Cynthia Erivo replies:

“Indeed, there are still roles I aspire to embody on screen.

I’m deeply drawn to the character Storm, and I believe there’s more to her depth than we’ve explored so far. Her grandeur and inner struggles are intriguing, and I’d love to delve deeper into those aspects. Perhaps, there might be an opportunity for us to create something around that theme?

When is Storm and the X-Men coming to the MCU?

In a new way, Storm made her entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) through the third season of “What If…?”. In episode 7, Captain Peggy Carter assembles a team with Kahhori, Byrdie, and a thunderous character who also holds Mjolnir – this version of Storm. This particular Storm isn’t the main MCU Storm since she’s an alternate variant.

According to Kevin Feige, a fresh era for mutants and the X-Men is set to unfold post-Avengers: Secret Wars. There’s a strong possibility that some X-Men characters might make an appearance in Secret Wars, which could then lead to their involvement in future X-Men films.

There’s been talk that Sadie Sink, known for her role in Stranger Things, might take on the character of Jean Grey. Additionally, there are reports suggesting that Henry Cavill has discussed potential future appearances as Wolverine with Marvel.
