Final Fantasy 7 Director Wants More Movies

Yoshinori Kitase, famous for overseeing Final Fantasy 6, 7, and 8, and at present working on the three-part remake of FF7, recently expressed his personal desire for a fresh film or television show based within the Final Fantasy 7 universe.

During a chat with Danny Peña, Kitase hinted that there’s currently no formal strategy in place, but he’s cognizant of several Hollywood directors and performers who hold a fond appreciation for Final Fantasy 7.

He showed enthusiasm for watching these artists create a movie or visually engaging production inspired by the game.

Previously, Kitase was involved in creating ‘Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children,’ a 2005 computer-generated movie that extended the narrative of the initial video game.

Previously, the director’s edition of ‘Advent Children Complete’ played only at selected cinemas across the U.S., prior to the anticipated launch of ‘Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’ for PlayStation 5, due in stores on December 16, 2024. However, a PC version of ‘Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’ is expected to be available starting January 23, 2025.

Due to its lasting appeal, Final Fantasy 7 has sparked numerous adaptations and offshoots throughout the years.

The engaging storyline and intricate personalities of this game have spellbound people globally, positioning it as an excellent prospect for expansion into various other forms of expression.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel excited by Tetsuya Nomura’s recent remarks about his passion for expanding the Final Fantasy VII world beyond its original gaming realm. While no formal announcements have been made yet, it’s clear that this fervor is shared by many of us who eagerly await news of new film or TV adaptations.

Previous adaptations such as ‘Advent Children’ have shown that future projects can strike a chord with both die-hard fans and new audiences alike, suggesting great promise.

With the gaming world increasingly merging with other forms of entertainment, the idea of a new Final Fantasy 7 film or TV series is becoming an enticing possibility that has many fans eagerly awaiting developments.

Kitase’s remarks have ignited debates among fans regarding the potential shape of this venture and the parts of the game’s rich history it may delve into.

Excitedly speaking as a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that we’re moving closer to the launch of ‘Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’ on our beloved PCs! This means we’ll continue our epic adventure alongside Cloud and his fellow travelers, as they journey through a reimagined world. Can’t wait!

Regardless if a new film adaptation occurs, the influence of Final Fantasy 7 endures vibrantly on multiple platforms and among different age groups.
