More recently, Gene Deal, previously in charge of security for Sean “Diddy” Combs, expressed his views on Jay-Z’s historical bond with Beyoncé.

On The Art of Dialogue podcast, Deal voiced criticism towards Jay-Z for dating a then 17 or 18-year-old Beyoncé. He emphasized the substantial age gap, as Jay-Z was in his 30s and Beyoncé was still considered a teenager at that time.

He mentioned that he witnessed Jay-Z and Beyoncé starting their relationship when Jay-Z was around his mid-thirties, while Beyoncé was between 17 and 18 years old. At the time, he wasn’t fully aware of the significant age difference between them.

Looking back at their past, Deal commented sardonically, “Aren’t they still more like a young adult?” Implying that maybe Jay-Z was safeguarding someone inexperienced by dating her so early on.

Gene Deal has brought up doubts about Beyoncé’s age, pointing out that it seems uncertain if the reported age is correct. He mentions a claim made by actress Gabrielle Union, who supposedly went to junior high with Beyoncé, implying that Beyoncé might be older than she states. Nevertheless, these theories have not been confirmed.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé crossed paths between 1999 and 2000, with him being 30 years old and her starting her career at 18 as a member of Destiny’s Child. However, their romantic relationship didn’t begin right away; they were friends first before things turned romantic.

In 2008, they exchanged vows, and since then, they’ve expanded their family to include three kids. Even amidst various public controversies, such as whispers about unfaithfulness, they continue to be a dominant force in the world of music, holding considerable influence.
