Thrilling news about the upcoming “Tougen Anki” TV anime! This series, slated to debut in Japan in July 2025, has unveiled a fresh key visual, a new trailer, and more character information. The specifics for international streaming will be shared at a later date.
The most recent depiction clearly emphasizes the primary figures – Shiki Ichinose, Jin Kougasaki, and Naito Mudano – demonstrating their potent Oni powers, famously called ‘Blood Eclipse Release.’

I’m thrilled to share that Manaka Iwami lends her voice to Homare Byobugaura, while Shogo Sakata voices Ikari Yaoroshi. Natsuki Hanae brings Juji Yusurube to life, and Kaito Miura takes on the role of Rokuro Kiriyama. Lastly, Aimi gives us Kuina Sazanami’s character. These exceptional talents join the already announced main cast, which includes Kazuki Ura as Shiki Ichinose, Hiroshi Kamiya as Naito Mudano, and Kotaro Nishiyama as Jin Kougasaki. What an incredible ensemble we have for this project!
In this production, Ato Nonaka takes the lead as director. Supporting roles include Hiroyuki Hashimoto serving as assistant director, Yukie Sugawara managing the scriptwriting, and Ryoko Amisaki responsible for character design. The captivating music is the work of Kohta Yamamoto, recognized for his contributions to Attack on Titan: The Final Season. Notably, Studio HIBARI is in charge of the animation creation.
The manga titled “Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood,” created by Yura Urushibara, started in 2020. It has gained widespread popularity with 22 volumes already published. Yen Press handles the English version of this series.
The tale unfolds around Shiki Ichinose, who learns he has Oni ancestry after being assaulted by Momotaro. His subsequent quest to unearth the facts about his lineage forms the basis of this anime. This animated series marks the second step in the Tougen Anki initiative, with a 2024 stage play adaption having paved the way before it.
Boasting an engaging plot and stunning imagery, Tougen Anki looks set to bring excitement to the realm of anime.
