On the red carpet at the Golden Globes, well-known journalist Josh Horowitz engaged Matt Reeves in a quick conversation regarding his “ReevesVerse”. During their discussion, they touched upon the possibility of Robert Pattinson joining the DC Universe.
Matt Reeves voiced his opinions regarding the prospect of Robert Pattinson’s Batman joining the DC Universe (DCU). Currently, his focus is solely set on developing the follow-up to “The Batman” movie.
He strongly emphasized the necessity of executing this film effectively and making sure everything goes smoothly, demonstrating that his focus at present is on carrying forward the narrative he initiated with Pattinson.
Regarding the possibility of incorporating Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of Batman into the larger DC Universe, Reeves was not decisive about it. He expressed that it would hinge on whether or not the concept is logical.
As a fervent fan, I can’t help but express my excitement over Matt Reeves discussing the potential inclusion of Robert Pattinson’s Batman within the DC Universe! It’s truly intriguing to imagine how this talented actor might bring new depth and dimension to the Caped Crusader in a shared universe.

Essentially, what he’s saying is that the decisive factor is if the choice aligns with reason, and since such decisions require thoughtful analysis, he’s prioritizing crafting an engaging narrative for the sequel first, rather than pondering over wider links at this stage.
Reeves was inquired about potentially agreeing to such a move if James Gunn, who co-heads DC Studios, proposed it. His answer suggested uncertainty and lack of immediate commitment: “I’m not sure, we’ll need to see how that pans out.” This implies that the final decision may not rest solely with him, and could involve negotiations with Gunn and other executives at DC Studios.
Currently, it appears that Reeves is prioritizing the creation of a strong follow-up to The Batman over hastily integrating it into any shared universe schemes. Whether Pattinson’s Batman will eventually become part of the DCU is still up in the air, but Reeves’ statements imply that narrative quality and appropriate timing will play significant roles in determining this decision.
