It’s been reported that Prince Andrew, also known as the Duke of York, is under investigation for potentially using a false identity when setting up a business. This accusation was made in a report submitted to the police by Graham Smith, who leads Republic, an organization that advocates against the royal family.
Back in 2002, I was absolutely thrilled to learn that none other than the Duke himself, under the disguise of “Andrew Inverness,” teamed up with sports mogul Johan Eliasch to establish Naples Gold Limited! It’s like finding a hidden treasure, uncovering this intriguing detail about one of my idols.
Currently, Smith is making an official accusation against Prince Andrew, claiming that he submitted misleading details in the documents submitted to Companies House.
It’s thought that the name “Andrew Inverness” might be associated with one of Prince Andrew’s lesser-used titles – the Earl of Inverness – a title bestowed upon him by Queen Elizabeth II in 1986.
As per Smith’s assertion, what may appear as a trivial matter of potentially false information might actually tie into bigger concerns about dishonesty in business dealings. Smith expressed his viewpoint by saying, “It seems the royals think they are above accountability,” and emphasized that Andrew should be expected to meet the highest ethical standards.
Currently, the Metropolitan Police are examining the complaint to decide if more steps need to be taken. At this point, no official accusations have been filed. Smith emphasized that such small occurrences deserve attention to maintain the system’s honesty and accountability.
Besides the allegations about a false name, it’s also been reported that Prince Andrew’s business entity, Urramoor Limited, is seeking to be disbanded.
The business that held substantial influence under Prince Andrew’s leadership has encountered financial hardships and hasn’t turned a profit during its nine-year run. It came to light this year that Urramoor received £210,000 anonymously, at a time when the company was grappling with financial troubles.
