It’s Finally Official: Princess Leia Is Pregnant, But This Raises an Important Question!

As a film enthusiast who has spent countless hours immersed in the galaxy far, far away, I must say that the latest developments in Marvel’s Star Wars comics are nothing short of thrilling. The pregnancy of Princess Leia and the return of Han Solo have added layers to these iconic characters that we never knew we needed.

Marvel’s Star Wars comics are exploring events that take place post-“Return of the Jedi”. In the new “Battle of Jakku” series, it is revealed that Princess Leia is pregnant with her son, Ben Solo. The increasing prominence of her baby bump in recent issues has sparked curiosity about Han Solo’s whereabouts, as he has been absent since the beginning of the series.

In the first installment of “Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku – Last Stand (2024)”, we find Leia, visibly pregnant, strolling through Chandrila accompanied by a trusted companion, Timra Ariz. Although Leia is in the limelight, she’s not on her own; Timra has been assigned to ensure both Leia and her unborn baby are secure.

Nonetheless, supporters find themselves curious and puzzled: where on earth is Han Solo amidst everything that’s happening? So far, the comic has not provided an answer to this question, making us eager to discover where the father of the child ended up following the events on Endor.

Leia Solo and Han Solo were skilled in distinct areas. Han, more of a practical individual, shone in smuggling operations and missions for both the Rebellion and later, the New Republic. In contrast, Leia took on a political role, concentrating her efforts on strengthening and stabilizing the New Republic.

Following the establishment of the New Republic, their paths gradually diverged, but the connection between Han and Leia remained unbroken. In the official storyline, it wasn’t until their son, Ben, embraced the Dark Side that they experienced a significant separation. Subsequently, their commitments within the New Republic kept them apart.

In the novel “Aftermath: Life Debt” by Chuck Wendig, we get a hint about Han Solo’s whereabouts during that period. It turns out that he was engaged in a quest to aid Chewbacca in freeing his planet, Kashyyyk.

In Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku – Republic Under Siege #1, I find myself embroiled in a mission that seems to be causing nothing but trouble. To my dismay, I discover in this storyline that Han and Chewbacca have gone missing. This absence of Han has been noticeable throughout the Battle of Jakku series so far. But fear not, for it’s confirmed that Han will reappear soon.

It appears that Han Solo will make an appearance in “Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku – Last Stand #2,” since he’s depicted on the cover. This seems to imply that Han, Leia, and Luke Skywalker are set to reconnect in the forthcoming issues.

It’s quite probable that Leia will find solace in Han’s return, considering the strain she experiences as she nurtures Ben Solo, who later becomes Kylo Ren. Despite their marital difficulties, Han was always the kind of father who would not abandon his son, even during hard times.

Yet, Han Solo and Leia Organa’s parenting decisions were far from flawless. A choice that continued to torment them was sending their son, Ben, to study under Luke Skywalker at his Jedi academy. They believed it would secure a brighter future for him, but unbeknownst to them, it paved the way for Ben to succumb to the Dark Side instead.

This choice deepened the divide between them, ultimately leading to their split, a chasm that remained unresolved until their meeting in “The Force Awakens”. The coming years are likely to be challenging for Han and Leia as they grapple with the consequences of Ben’s downfall, and their bond will forever be altered by this event.
