Director Denis Villeneuve is heading back to Arrakis. He’s previously divided Frank Herbert’s groundbreaking sci-fi novel into two films, and now he’s bringing the author’s second book, “Dune: Messiah”, to the big screen. However, it seems that Villeneuve’s film may not bear the same title. Despite denying plans for a trilogy, Variety suggests that the official title for his third Dune movie could be “Dune: Part Three“.

According to reports, Villeneuve plans to partially film his upcoming movie using IMAX cameras, contrary to the claim made by IMAX CEO Richard Gelfond that the entire film would be shot this way. In contrast, Christopher Nolan is indeed shooting the whole of his adaptation of The Odyssey with IMAX cameras.
Besides stars Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, the upcoming film will feature newcomer Robert Pattinson to the series. Jason Momoa revealed that he’ll reprise his role as Duncan Idaho, despite his character’s death in the initial movie. (As they say among the youth, “If you catch my drift.”) Anya Taylor-Joy, who made a brief appearance as Paul’s older sister in Dune: Part Two, will also be back for Part Three.
After Villeneuve completes this current film, he has no plans to return to Arrakis. He’s explicitly stated that there won’t be a fourth film in the series. Moreover, he’s already secured another project – directing the upcoming James Bond movie. If he creates another 007 movie, we can confirm now that it won’t be titled “James Bond: Part Two.
