Hallmark+ Subscribers Are Getting a Series of New Christmas Movies Ahead of Major Changes

As a dedicated Hallmark movie enthusiast with over a decade of festive film-watching under my belt, I must say, 2025 looks like it’s shaping up to be an exciting year for us holiday movie fanatics! The recent changes at Hallmark+ are music to my ears and will undoubtedly make it easier than ever to indulge in all the heartwarming, seasonal cheer that Hallmark has to offer.

2025 will bring significant alterations to the Hallmark+ service. It’s only been a few short months since its debut, but the platform is already tweaking its approach. Unlike originally planned, Hallmark+ was intended to broadcast distinct content from both the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mystery Channel; however, this arrangement is set to be overhauled.

Beginning from 2025, all freshly produced films on both Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mystery will become accessible for streaming on Hallmark+ one day after their initial television broadcast, according to Variety’s report.

In anticipation of this transition, Hallmark has introduced a total of twelve new holiday films starting from December 17, with an additional 24 set to premiere on December 20. As a result, Hallmark+ subscribers will have access to more than forty holiday movies, encompassing all the 2024 holiday content from Hallmark’s linear television networks.

Currently, Hallmark is partnered with Peacock, so movies from the “Countdown to Christmas” event become accessible for streaming three days following their initial airing. Therefore, a movie like “Trading Up Christmas,” which will air on December 19, won’t be available on Hallmark+ just yet.

Originally in July, Lisa Hamilton Daly, Hallmark’s Executive Vice President of Programming, announced that the ‘Countdown to Christmas’ event would remain exclusive to television, with distinct content on their app. However, this strategy is now shifting as more of the same content will be available on both the TV and the app.

A few flicks scheduled for this holiday season have been made accessible earlier on Hallmark Plus. However, the transformations at Hallmark Media aren’t limited to streaming alone.

In November, it was revealed that “The Way Home” would shift from television broadcast to a streaming platform for its third season. However, after considering audience feedback, this decision was overturned and the season will now be aired on the network. Each episode will also be available on Hallmark+ the following day.

12 new holiday movies were added to Hallmark+ on December 17th, such as “Following Yonder Star”, “The Christmas Quest”, “Santa Tell Me”, “Holiday Crashers”, “Five Gold Rings”, “A Reason for the Season”, “All I Need for Christmas”, “Jingle Bell Run”, “Sugarplummed”, “Private Princess Christmas”, “Scouting For Christmas”, and “Debbie Macomber’s Joyful Mrs. Miracle”.

Beginning December 20th, a total of 24 new movies will be added to the streaming service: “Trading Up Christmas”, “The Santa Class”, “Hanukkah on the Rocks”, “Leah’s Perfect Gift”, “A Dance in the Snow”, “The Finnish Line”, “Believe in Christmas”, “A ’90s Christmas”, “Deck the Walls”, “Christmas Under the Lights”, “To Have and To Holiday”, “Christmas on Call”, “A Novel Noel”, “Christmas with the Singhs”, “‘Tis the Season to Be Irish”, “Trivia at St. Nick’s”, “Holiday Mismatch”, “Our Holiday Story”, “A Carol for Two”, “My Sweet Austrian Holiday”, “The 5-Year Christmas Party”, “The Christmas Charade”, “This Time Each Year” and “‘Twas the Date Before Christmas”.

Hallmark+ offers two membership options: a monthly plan for $7.99 or an annual plan for $79.99. The platform is rapidly evolving to cater to viewer engagement, providing additional content that used to be exclusive to television.

It appears that Hallmark is striving to strike a suitable blend of streaming and its conventional linear TV network. Starting from next year, fans can expect an easier approach to watch their beloved holiday movies.
