Zoë Kravitz Talks About Channing Tatum’s ‘Charisma’ In FIRST Comment After Breakup; Reflects On Their Time Working On Blink Twice

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for Hollywood dynamics, I must say that Zoë Kravitz‘s insight into Channing Tatum’s acting prowess during their shared creative journey is both enlightening and captivating. Their unique bond, nurtured on the set of Blink Twice, transcended the boundaries of a typical professional relationship, blossoming into an intriguing tale of love, art, and heartbreak.

Zoë Kravitz recently spoke about Channing Tatum for the first time since their October breakup.

In an interview for Variety’s Directors on Directors issue, published on December 18th, Kravitz, aged 36, stated that Channing was the first person who popped into her mind for the role of Slater King in her directorial debut film, Blink Twice. She confessed that she couldn’t explain where this association originated from.

Previously, during the film’s promotional events, Kravitz had expressed admiration for her former fiancé. After their breakup, reflecting on the past, she continues to be amazed by his abilities and confessed that she intentionally showcased them to make his distorted screen character more compelling.

In a conversation with Matt Reeves, the director of Batman 2, Kravitz shared his understanding that the character should appear trustworthy since we wouldn’t believe Naomi Ackie (the film’s Frida) would board a plane if the person was obviously deceitful from the start.

She playfully commented, “I aimed to use his charm as a tool,” pointing out that audiences haven’t witnessed Tatum portraying a character quite like this one before.

In August’s debut of “Blink Twice,” tech billionaire Slater King, played by Tatum, extends an invitation to cocktail waitress Frida (Ackie) for a dreamy getaway on an island. As they embark on their journey together, peculiar occurrences start happening, causing Frida to doubt Slater’s motives and, at the same time, question her own identity.

Regarding Ackie’s portrayal in the movie, Kravitz stated that she desired an actor with a highly expressive face for the role. Upon meeting Ackie, she felt confident that she possessed the ability to deliver the character effectively.

Twice Blink, a cherished undertaking, represented a key achievement for Kravitz professionally. Yet, it carried even deeper significance personally, as she found herself falling in love with Tatum while working on this project.

In August 2021, it was verified by various news sources that Kravitz and Tatum started dating following their growing closeness on the film set of the psychological thriller. After spending two years as a couple, they decided to get engaged.

2024 saw Tatum and Kravitz embark on their promotional journey for the movie “Blink Twice”. Their on-screen connection was palpable in each public event, but sadly, they parted ways shortly after completing their promotion duties for the film.

Despite their romantic relationship having ended, these two individuals remain professionally connected and are set to collaborate once more, this time for the Alpha Gang project.

Not long after the cast of the movie was revealed, a source informed Us Weekly that there’s no lingering animosity between the former partners. Consequently, both of them are not hesitant to seize the chance to collaborate on a promising project.
