As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience in entertainment and humor, I must say that Martin Short’s latest SNL appearance is a testament to his timeless wit and comedic genius. The way he skillfully pokes fun at his fellow celebrities, including Colin Jost, Al Pacino, and Steve Martin, showcases the unique bond they share and the camaraderie that only comes from being part of such an iconic institution as SNL.
Year after year, Martin Short follows Michael Che’s custom by jesting at Colin Jost during the preview for the last episode of Saturday Night Live. Not even Steve Martin and Al Pacino can escape the amusing jabs of the Only Murders In The Building star.
On Saturday, December 21st, Studio 8H will see the year-end episode of Saturday Night Live, with Short as the host. To give you a taste of the holiday-themed special, Short has enlisted SNL cast members Ashley Padilla, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker to help with gift wrapping. However, things take an amusing twist when the process becomes more comical than expected.
Against a backdrop of holiday cheer, Short positions himself among a threesome, presenting what appear to be significant gifts. Upon opening these containers, they find nothing within. He explains that it is an honor to serve as an usher for his famous acquaintances and regrettably, they cannot join the elite circle.
First, Short presents humorously selected gifts to his well-known companions, starting with Jost. He remarks, “And here’s a book for Colin Jost,” as he reveals a self-help book titled “How to Cultivate a Personality.” According to Short, the comedian requires it since “Cocaine refers to him as ‘the test.’
In my expert opinion, I couldn’t help but notice the remarkable story of Al Pacino, who became a father at an impressive 84 years old. Jokingly, I extended to him a token of welcome – a baby rattle, not intended for his little one. As Short humorously put it, “This baby rattle is for Al Pacino himself, not his newborn.
Later in the conversation, the actor from The Father of the Bride makes a jest at his frequent partner, Steve Martin, by suggesting a sunscreen. “This is SPF Infinity sunscreen,” he quips, “after all, let’s be honest, Steve is as white as a Coldplay meet and greet. His blood type must be mayonnaise.
At the end of the show, Short playfully announces that his children – Katherine, Oliver, and Henry – will be the recipients of some stylish photos of him. Later, when the cast members attempt to express their gratitude with a hug, he pretends to shy away, emphasizing the need for social distancing. He jokes, “Keep your hands off me! It’s Christmas – from afar.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be gracing your screens for my third solo hosting gig and fifth overall in an upcoming special on NBC! The end of the year is going to be even more spectacular with the enchanting music of Hozier joining us. Tune in to NBC this Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET, and let’s ring in the new year together!
