Former Speaker Of The House Nancy Pelosi Regrets Not Being Able To Host Saturday Night Live; Deets

As a longtime political enthusiast and comedy aficionado, I can’t help but feel a pang of sympathy for the indomitable Nancy Pelosi. Her candid admission of never getting to host Saturday Night Live is a poignant reminder that even the most powerful figures in our society have dreams unrealized.

Nancy Pelosi, a past House Speaker, has shared one significant regret – she won’t have the opportunity to appear on the renowned comedy-variety show, Saturday Night Live.

In conversation with Julia Louis-Dreyfus on her Wiser Than Me podcast, Pelosi expressed regret that she would never have the opportunity to host an episode of Saturday Night Live.

She further went on to add, “I’m really funny.”

In response to what she said, Julia Louis-Dreyfus viewed Pelosi’s expressed regret as an opportunity and invited the U.S. representative to join her on the show.

However, Pelosi then insisted that her dream of hosting SNL is now over and that it’s too late.

Nancy Pelosi expressed that she currently doesn’t consider it. In response, Dreyfus promised to persuade her, emphasizing that she would excel in the production if given the opportunity.

To clarify, for people unaware, Julia Louis-Dreyfus acted as a regular cast member for three whole seasons in that particular series.

While they were conversing on the podcast, Pelosi and Louis-Dreyfus delved into the roots of the DNC in San Francisco’s Democratic politics, as well as discussed George McGovern, a previous senator from South Dakota for the Democratic party.

Speaking about McGovern, Dreyfus mentioned that during her time at SNL in the ’80s, the politician made an appearance as a guest host for the sketch comedy show.

For those who may not know, George McGovern challenged Richard Nixon during the 1972 U.S. Presidential race.

It’s also important to note that McGovern wasn’t the first or only political figure to appear on Saturday Night Live.

Several associates of Nancy Pelosi, such as Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Elizabeth Warren, have also made appearances on Saturday Night Live.

Moreover, even the new president-elect, Donald Trump has hosted the show twice.
