As a lifestyle expert with extensive experience in navigating high-profile relationships and financial entanglements, I find myself deeply troubled by the ongoing saga between Daddy Yankee and his estranged wife, Mireddys González. The accusations of embezzlement and mismanagement of funds are indeed alarming, especially given the magnitude of the alleged sums involved.
Daddy Yankee alleges that his separated spouse, Mireddys González, unauthorizedly withdrew approximately $100 million from two of his business bank accounts without his consent or awareness, as they navigate their divorce proceedings. As per court records obtained by Billboard, the popular Puerto Rican rapper, known as Ramon Luis Ayala Rodriguez, asserts that González removed $80 million from his El Cartel Records account and an additional $20 million from his Los Cangros account.
It’s said that González held the position of CEO, while her sister, Ayeicha González Castellanos, managed the role of secretary and treasurer for the record labels established by the artist.
The reggaeton artist claims that the suspected misuse of company funds took place on Thursday, following his decision to rescind the sisters’ authority and cautioned them against conducting transactions for the business. In addition, Yankee stated in his document that he has no access, interference, or knowledge about the wealth he created and still generates, which he is entitled to receive.
He requested the court to order the sisters’ prompt exclusion from all roles in his companies, as well as to direct them to hand over any illicitly held information or documents safely.
The Grammy-winning individual asserted that the two individuals illegally amassed more control over El Cartel’s operations than their official roles allowed, leading to “harmful and reckless conduct within the company.
Additionally, he claimed they provided an incorrect summary of their activities, overlooked the necessary procedures and rules within corporate law, and exhibited reckless financial management.
According to Yankee, González allegedly offloaded his music collection to Concord Records through a third-party intermediary, who underestimated the catalog’s true worth in the process.
It’s said that the artist who topped the Gasolina charts was not given a copy of the contract agreement, leaving him in the dark about the specifics of the deal, such as its boundaries and what exactly was or wasn’t traded, including any restrictions on the usage of his musical compositions.
González and González Castellanos have yet to respond to the matter.
This month, Yankee announced that after almost 30 years of marriage, he and his longtime girlfriend from high school, González, were divorcing. In a statement shared on social media and reported by Page Six, the Despacito singer stated that he had spent numerous months trying to save their decades-long union, but ultimately chose to honor González’s wish to file for divorce.
In 1995, the pair got married and have since then raised a 28-year-old daughter named Jesaaelys and a 26-year-old son named Jeremy together. Yankee is additionally a father to a daughter called Yamilet, from his past relationship.
For the uninitiated, Yankee is set to retire from the music industry in December 2023, instead choosing to dedicate his time and energy to serving God.
