As a devoted fan who has followed the To All The Boys series since its inception, I am beyond thrilled about the upcoming season of XO, Kitty! Having grown up with Peter Kavinsky and Lara Jean Covey, it feels like reuniting with old friends as we delve deeper into Kitty’s life.
In an exciting turn of events, Netflix unveiled the trailer for XO, Kitty Season 2, and it’s Noah Centineo as Peter Kavinsky who steals the spotlight! The initial season of the spin-off series from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before followed Kitty, Lara Jean’s younger sister, as she navigated her high school years in Seoul, South Korea. However, when her relationship with Dae Heon takes an unexpected turn, she finds herself entangled in a fling with Min Ho.
But, matters become intricate as Kitty imagines herself kissing Yuri, leading her to consider the possibility that she might have feelings for girls. Based on the preview, the series promises more drama, chaos, love triangles, and intense emotions in the forthcoming season.
Despite some ambiguity about Centineo potentially appearing for just one scene, his character’s rapport with Kitty, a key figure in the romance between Peter Kavinsky and Laura Jean, promises to introduce an exciting new dynamic to the series.
Anna Cathcart’s character is set to return to Seoul for a fresh semester at Korea International School Seoul (KISS). In the trailer, she shares that the last semester was filled with a lot of turmoil. However, this time around, her focus is on education and understanding more about her mother’s past. She’s all geared up to delve deeper into her studies and uncover secrets about her mom, marking a new phase in her life which she refers to as Kitty 2.0.
As I stepped onto the university campus for the first time, I felt like a fish out of water – an anomaly among the sea of students. But then, just when I needed it most, a familiar face from home appeared: Kavinsky. I rushed into his welcoming embrace. He gave me a pep talk that day, reminding me who I truly am: Kitty Song Covey. And with those words, he left me feeling empowered and ready to conquer the university experience.
Talking to Tudum, Centineo expressed his excitement working with Cathcart in the spin-off series, calling it an “outstanding” experience. He praised her talent, saying, “Her dedication is evident in every scene.” He further mentioned that returning to the To All The Boys universe was a pleasure and he hoped the audience enjoys seeing Peter as much as he did.
The actor shared that incorporating Kavinsky into the universe was a lot of fun and hopes that the fans enjoy his interaction with their favorite XO, Kitty characters and teases “juicy surprises” in store.
