According to Mulaney himself, Malcolm has a special fondness for being on stage.
During an interview with People Magazine, the actor-comedian revealed that his first child with Munn has been exposed to the music played on set, and he (Malcolm) truly appreciates it.
In an interview with the media outlet, the comedian shared, “My son has been attending numerous rehearsals, so he’s had plenty of opportunities to listen to The Bengsons and our fantastic band practice. He absolutely loves it! And interestingly enough, he recently purchased a ukulele.
Furthermore, aligning with our discussion, Mr. Mulaney expressed, “He joined in with the musicians.” The father of two went on to share, “He’s visited quite frequently. He’s got a soft spot for the theater. He spent quite some time on stage and then exclaimed, ‘I adore the stage.’
At the GQ Men event, the actor discussed Malcolm’s warm greeting towards his sister, Mei, and his role as an older brother. Mulaney, in conversation with a news outlet, mentioned that “He’s doing well. He enjoys it. It’s fascinating to see our daughter; she’s just two months old so she doesn’t do much yet.
The SNL cast member went on to remark, “I believe during the initial weeks, he may have thought she was a toy because it would squeak and he’d try to figure out how to make it do that again. Now, I think he understands that this is a little girl, indeed.
Mulaney and Munn became parents to their newborn daughter, delivered through a surrogate, in October. They joyfully shared a family photo on Instagram, revealing the arrival of their second child.
