As a devoted fan, I can’t help but admire Kelly Clarkson’s resilience and dedication to her children and career. Her life in New York City, juggling motherhood and hosting duties, is nothing short of inspiring. It’s heartwarming to see a superstar like her prioritize her kids, especially when they make heartfelt requests like joining her on stage, as River and Remy did during her Las Vegas residency.
Kelly Clarkson is thriving in her singlehood and enjoying her role as a mom in New York City. Since moving with her children River, 10, and Remy, 8, last year, she has seemingly adapted well, managing both hosting her successful talk show and raising her pre-teens on her own.
According to a source, Kelly mostly focuses on her family and career, living in a sort of self-contained world. She deeply cherishes her role as a mother, and her children have made it known that they prefer her single status, which she respects.
She’s quite content with how her life currently stands. As her children grow up, finding a partner becomes less challenging. At present, there’s nothing about dating that she yearns for, as pointed out by the source.
During a chat on the KOST 103.5 podcast in November, Clarkson opened up about her personal dating situation. While she currently seems happy being single, she made it clear to her children that she may not always follow their preferences regarding relationships.
“I have expressed like, ‘Hey, I love you guys, but Mommy needs loving too,’” she shared.
In August 2023, Remy and River performed alongside their mother during her Las Vegas residency. During an interview with People for her upcoming 2024 cover story, the previous Voice coach shared that the performance was actually suggested by her children, despite their initial apprehension.
In a packed stadium, River chose to do a dual rendition of her mother’s popular song “Heartbeat Song”. Simultaneously, Remington joyfully danced in support while Clarkson sang “Whole Lotta Woman” to the delighted crowd.
Karina Clarkson, the winner of American Idol, co-parents her children with her former husband Brandon Blackstock. After filing for divorce in 2020, their separation was finalized in March 2022. They have a shared custody arrangement, but it’s widely reported that the kids primarily reside with Clarkson in New York City.
