As an ardent admirer who has grown up with these iconic shows, I must say that the SAG Awards 2024 was nothing short of a dream come true! The reunion of Modern Family and other beloved series was like stepping back into my childhood living room, albeit with a touch of nostalgia.
At the SAG Awards 2024, a spectacular gathering took place where iconic television series and films from the past like Modern Family were reunited, thanks to the dedicated work of Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Regarding the renowned sitcom featuring a lively family’s escapades and fun times, the viewers once again witnessed the adult cast reuniting. However, this time, the kids from the show were not present. Notably, Ty Burrell made an appearance at this gathering, as he had been unable to attend the previous one.
On Friday’s Tonight Show, Jesse Tyler Ferguson explained how he ensured Ty Burrell would join the reunion this time around. “During the SAG Awards,” Ferguson said, “Burrell had another commitment.” He then communicated to Burrell, who portrayed Phil Dunphy on the show, that it was essential for him to be there this particular occasion.

The conversation ensued after the latest gathering in November, which unfortunately Burrell missed out on. At that time, most of the Modern Family cast members including Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, and the rest of the cast (excluding Burrell) were present.
Despite his absence at the previous reunion, the cast ensured to feature him in their photos during this event. Photos posted on social media reveal that they had incorporated him by including him among them, along with creators Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd, as well as a framed image of Burrell.
