As a dedicated follower and admirer of Edie Redmayne‘s work, I must say that his journey through The Day of the Jackal has been nothing short of captivating. Having watched him transform into the enigmatic Jackal, I can attest to the intensity and dedication he’s brought to this role.
Edie Redmayne is eagerly anticipating the filming locations for The Day of the Jackal’s next season following the hectic end of the initial one. In an interview with People magazine, where he also serves as an executive producer, the actor shared that tremendous effort has been poured into adapting the cherished Frederick Forsyth novel to the screen.
As a die-hard fan, I must confess it had been eons since I graced the small screen, yet I eagerly took up the challenge without knowing how the story would ultimately unfold. The script pages seemed to materialize as I was diving headfirst into each scene, which meant a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication were required for this project.
Simultaneously, he admitted to experiencing both joy and relief that the initial season successfully maintained its surprising and sudden elements across the entire series, particularly in the final episode, despite some changes regarding which characters lived or died.
In the final episode of season one, MI-6 agent Bianca (played by Lashana Lynch) persistently pursued Jackal (Redmayne), but tragically, she was murdered by him at his residence in Cádiz, Spain. For the actor, delving into the “cold,” “impenetrable,” and “sterile” aspects of his characters proved unexpectedly captivating. With Bianca now out of the picture, Jackal’s second season will offer a fresh start, paving the way for countless new opportunities.
