What are your views on the Doctor Strange character and the personal growth he’s shown across multiple films?

Cumberbatch: That’s an interesting query. Indeed, he is consistently evolving. Yet, he remains entangled in the same dilemma. The conundrum revolves around what one forfeits for the authority they hold. His authority doesn’t stem from special spiders or nanotechnology, but rather from highly perilous demons, gods, and other dimensions.

From a personal perspective, it appears that he’s undergoing development. Right now, he seems to be honing skills such as putting others first, collaborating in teams, and building trust with others. He truly is a multifaceted and captivating individual.

Initially, he came across as an overly confident individual, excelling in divine medical procedures particularly as a brilliant neurosurgeon. However, his current role involves performing miracles, hinting at his growth. Yet, he continues to grapple with various psychological challenges that he’s yet to overcome fully.

At the recent Tokyo Comic Con, Mads Mikkelsen, the actor known for his role as Kaecilius in Doctor Strange, was in attendance. By any chance, did you manage to engage or meet him during the event?

Cumberbatch: Yes, I had a brief chat with Mads! He’s always enjoyable to converse with. However, there was news that Josh Brolin, an exceptional performer, was set to join as well. I’m disappointed he couldn’t make it.

The famous personalities arriving in Japan hailed from various nations and were plagued by jet lag and exhaustion, making it difficult for ample interaction among all. However, during my trip to Japan the previous year, I managed to dine at an exquisite teriyaki restaurant with Tom Hiddleston. It was a delightful experience sharing time with him.
