’28 Years Later’ Trailer Drops: The Rage Virus Returns!

As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours navigating through post-apocalyptic landscapes in various video games, the trailer for 28 Years Later has me absolutely thrilled! The gritty realism and haunting atmosphere of the original films have always resonated with me, and the fact that this one is filmed on an iPhone adds a unique twist to the visual storytelling.

28 Years Afterward is an upcoming horror movie, taking place in a post-apocalyptic setting, helmed by Danny Boyle and penned by Alex Garland. This film marks the third installment of the 28 Days Later series, featuring Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, and Cillian Murphy, who also serves as an executive producer.

This upcoming movie, unlike those from 20th Century Studios, is a collaborative effort among Columbia Pictures, the British Film Institute, Decibel Films, and DNA Films. Scheduled for release on June 20, 2025, this film, along with its sequel titled “28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple,” was shot using an iPhone.

The trailer for the upcoming movie has just been unveiled, providing a brief look at its setting and a preview of the Bone Temple.

28 Years Later features Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson portraying Jamie, Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, and Cillian Murphy reprising his role as Jim. Erin Kellyman and Edvin Ryding are among the cast members, with Ryding assuming the character of E. Sundqvist.

The full plot is still a secret, but the synopsis reveals the following:

Following the occurrences depicted in the film “28 Weeks Later,” the Rage Virus re-emerges, leaving a band of survivors to navigate a world overrun by throngs of the infected.

In April 2024, Nia DaCosta initiated talks about directing the second installment of the new “28 Days Later” trilogy, with Boyle, Garland, and others serving as producers.
