As a long-time Star Wars enthusiast who has lived through the highs and lows of the saga, I can hardly contain my excitement for Jeremy Allen White‘s addition to the galaxy far, far away. The young actor, fresh off his success with The Bear, is now set to voice Rotta the Hutt in Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian & Grogu. This is no mere cameo, mind you – Rotta will reportedly play a significant role in the upcoming film.
Following his success in “The Bear,” actor Jeremy Allen White is set to make a mark within the Star Wars universe. While specific details about his appearance are yet to be revealed, it’s confirmed that he will lend his voice to Rotta the Hutt, Jabba the Hutt’s son, in Jon Favreau’s “The Mandalorian & Grogu.” This character is well-known among dedicated Star Wars followers as he was Jabba’s young son, who first appeared in the 2008 animated movie “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and subsequently in the popular series. Rotta the Hutt’s role in the upcoming project is not a minor one; it seems he will play a substantial part in the film’s storyline.
In the movie “Clone Wars,” Count Dooku, Asajj Ventress, and the Separatists, with the aid of Ziro the Hutt (Rotta’s uncle), abduct Rotta. The Separatists falsely accuse the Jedi of the kidnapping, aiming to persuade Jabba to side against the Republic and join their movement. Eventually, Anakin Skywalker and his new Padawan learner, Ahsoka Tano, manage to save Rotta and exonerate the Jedi. However, the fate of young Jabba the Hutt remains unknown to “Star Wars” fans. Soon, we will all learn what happened to him.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t wait to see where the journey of The Mandalorian and Grogu takes us in the galaxy three decades after the Clone Wars! It’s fascinating to ponder what’s become of little Rotta, who was once known as Stinky. With his father deceased, it wouldn’t be surprising if Rotta has taken over a criminal empire of his own. Perhaps we might even see him attempting to encroach upon Boba Fett’s territory. If that were the case, I could imagine Boba needing to call on his trusty Mandalorian friend for help! We’ll find out all the answers when The Mandalorian and Grogu hit theaters on May 22, 2026.
