As a long-time fan of the Superman saga, I must say that the final season of Superman & Lois was nothing short of spectacular! Having followed this series since its inception, I can attest to its ups and downs, but the way they wrapped it up was truly impressive. The Death of Superman storyline was a bold choice, and they executed it flawlessly.
Despite being in a universe distinct from the Arrowverse, “Superman & Lois” shone brightest among CW’s superhero shows due to its exceptional storytelling. While the show has had its high points and low points, particularly over the past year.
Following Nexstar’s acquisition of CW and subsequent reorganization, the series “Superman & Lois” managed to stay, while several other shows were unfortunately axed. This reshuffle resulted in cast changes, a reduced writing team, tighter budget constraints, and a smaller episode count compared to previous seasons.
In spite of the difficulties encountered along the way, the series concluded its narrative during its fourth season, marking the end of its run. Originally intended to span at least seven seasons, the show ultimately ended prematurely.
The last season of “Superman & Lois” turned out to be a major triumph, drawing inspiration from the popular “The Death of Superman” narrative. In conclusion, it skillfully resolved each character’s storyline, even those revolving around our beloved live-action Superboy counterparts.
Right now, the show is enjoying a flawless 100% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, while audience approval stands at an impressive 92%. This triumph has certainly boosted CW’s reputation, and the recent viewership figures confirm its success.
As reported by TV Series Finale, the final episode of Superman & Lois attracted 510,000 viewers during its broadcast, making it the most-viewed episode of the series’ season and one of the highest-rated scripted shows on The CW’s fall television schedule.
Based on these numbers, it’s clear that the Arrowverse ended on a high note!
