Venaka for PVE

In the game Brown Dust, similar to Michaela, Venaka is a character originally known for supporting roles in Brown Dust 1 (also called Brave Nine). However, in Brown Dust 2, she’s been transformed into a character primarily focused on dealing damage. Notably, WD.Venaka boasts several distinctive characteristics that make her an attractive choice to players, as indicated by “WD” which stands for “Werewolf Den,” the faction she belongs to.

Damage amplification

Initially, WD.Venaka’s talent increases the wind damage sustained by enemies, making it a one-of-a-kind special ability.

In addition to other abilities that increase the damage dealt to enemies, such as GC.Rafina and Cat.Eris boosting physical damage, TF.Levia enhancing magic damage, and RH.Zenith amplifying all types of damage, Venaka stands out as the first character who specifically boosts damage from a particular element.

Venaka’s abilities complement, or stack additively, with other skills that boost damage. This means they don’t increase each other’s effects multiplicatively like damage amplification buffs typically do.

With Venaka’s costume sporting a one-time strike ability, her performance syncs exceptionally well with TF.Levia (who delivers four strikes) and BA.Teresse (whose buff remains effective for chains of five or fewer).

Unique AOE

There is another very unique feature about WD.Venaka which is easy to overlook: her AOE.

At a quick glance, it appears to be an ordinary 3×3 Area of Effect (AOE). However, upon closer inspection, this AOE is unlike any other 3×3 AOE. Typically, the main target for these skills is positioned at the center. In contrast, WD.Venaka’s AOE focuses on the front line. This unique placement enables her to handle complex formations that many others can’t reach.

Using Venaka in PVE

Venaka performs exceptionally well across most Player vs Environment scenarios, with the exception of Last Night’s boss, as it is immune to enemy buffs.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but sing praises about this character, particularly when it comes to the Tower of Pride. Her exceptional single hit attack is simply unmatched! And the Tower of Salvation? She shines there too, thanks to her area-of-effect (AOE) ability that proves incredibly handy for tackling those peculiar formations that keep popping up. What’s more, her powerful AOE move makes her a versatile powerhouse, perfect for exploiting weak points in fiend hunts and guild raids.

Venka is an excellent choice as your primary attacker when you have both Wind Dancer and DJ, as they each have a cooldown of three turns. This allows for continuous use without any breaks. Additionally, Wind Dancer’s buff endures for four turns, enhancing the damage output of DJ during that period.

In short, while WD.Venaka has decent damage in PVE settings, it performs significantly better when used alongside DJ.Venaka. The combination of these two characters delivers the maximum damage, with WD.Venaka serving as a setup, followed by DJ.Venaka acting as the big nuke.

Venaka for PVP

DJ.Venaka has been a constant presence in the Player vs Player (PVP) scene ever since her debut during summer. Her formidable 50% M.RES reduction, immense damage output, and extensive range position her as one of the top attackers for PVP, often matching up against the iconic Nightmare Bunny Eclipse. However, until recently, Venaka’s main weakness in PVP was that she only had a single costume, leaving her without any actions during her second turn.

By introducing Wind Dancer, Venaka addresses her major PvP issue, allowing for seamless alternation between Wind Dancer and DJ costumes without any cooldown period. The Wind Dancer outfit boasts a substantial area-of-effect (AOE) and an exceptionally potent attack, multiplying damage by an impressive 1000%.

WD.Venaka harmonizes exceptionally well with RH.Zenika. Typically, it’s advisable to deploy Zenika after Venaka because Zenika targets enemies in the “skip” position while Venaka performs optimally when hitting the “front-most” position, maximizing her area-of-effect forward attack. Furthermore, playing Zenika after Venaka is advantageous because Zenika is a wind-type character, making her attacks stronger with Venaka’s buff. One of Zenika’s main drawbacks is her low skill damage, but with a 2.5x increase from Venaka, Zenika’s attacks become significantly more potent. Since Venaka is a magic type and Zenika is a physical type, most enemies find it challenging to endure the combined assault of both characters, as many units only prepare for DEF or M.RES, but not both.

Introducing Wind Dancer into the Player versus Player (PVP) arena might influence the game’s dynamics significantly, as Venaka poses a considerable challenge to Battlefield Veteran (BV).Morphea, a commonly chosen defense team character. Notably, Venaka is a wind-attuned creature, making it powerful against Morphea’s water-type, and its abilities are particularly harsh on the front line, which is always occupied when using BV.Morphea. As such, it becomes extremely difficult for Morphea to maintain the front line in the face of Wind Dancer Venaka. If Venaka keeps gaining popularity among attack teams, it’s likely that the usage of BV.Morphea will decrease proportionally.

Conclusion

While Nebris might be the preferred choice for many in this wind banner rotation, thanks to her raw gyaru strength, from a strategic point of view, Venaka’s costume is indispensable for PVE wind squads. Moreover, it’s also crucial for any players who already employ Venaka in PVP.

+3 with potential upgrades is the minimum investment required to get her wind buff at full power.
