As a seasoned gamer of survival dramas and time-travel mysteries, I can confidently say that my anticipation for Yellowjackets Season 3 is reaching a fever pitch. I’ve been through the trials and tribulations of Lost, The 101, and even the emotional rollercoaster of Stranger Things – yet nothing quite compares to the raw, visceral intensity that this series brings.
The third season of Yellowjackets is nearly within reach, and it feels like we’re on the verge of savoring every moment. Rest assured, it’s going to be even more tantalizing than Jackie’s roasted remains. The new episodes are set to debut on Valentine’s Day, and SHOWTIME is gearing up for its promotional blitz with tasty tidbits to keep fans eagerly waiting. A recent article in Entertainment Weekly offers a sneak peek at Yellowjackets season three, additional details about the bonus episode, and tantalizing glimpses into the cannibalism and other intrigues that await us.
Yellowjackets Releases First Look Images for Season Three
Let’s get into this first set of photos.

In this image, Tai, Van, Shauna, and Jeff are found seated in a church pew, surrounded by flickering candles, presumably at Natalie’s funeral service. Regrettably, there are only two additional individuals visible in this frame. One is an older Black woman, while the other, somewhat indistinct, could be of Asian descent; it might even be Mari, who has yet to appear in our current storyline.
A different snapshot from Yellowjackets depicts Van and Tai in a warm hug, seemingly in a dimly lit passageway. It looks like Tai has left her employment, spouse, child, and pet to reignite an old love affair. The latest images show the teenagers; one of them features Tai brandishing a shotgun and dressing more than the others. Additionally, their teepee structures are visible, explaining this development following the cabin’s destruction by fire.
Here are additional pictures of the Yellowjackets, featuring both adult members and Coach Ben. Is Lottie visiting Shauna’s home? What’s the reason behind Misty setting fire to their group photograph? Could Shauna’s child possibly become less irritating? So many queries arise!
Yellowjackets Season Three Will Explore Tai and Van’s Romance, the Aftermath of Natalie’s Death, Cannibalism, and Teen Shauna’s Power Struggle
Previously, Shauna was not pleased with Lottie designating Natalie as the new pack leader. In the third season of Yellowjackets, the teenagers will face a harsh winter and delve deeper into cannibalism. Co-creator Ashley Lyle notes that the conflicts and animosities from season 2 continue to unfold, significantly impacting the girls’ relationships this season. Additionally, Lyle hints at more cannibalistic incidents, suggesting that someone else may become the next victim in Yellowjackets.
Currently, Tai and Van are recalling their past love amidst the most challenging circumstances yet, as the entire group, particularly Misty, struggles to come to terms with Natalie’s sudden demise. Co-creator Bart Nickerson provided additional insights into the Tai and Van relationship, stating, “Throughout their experiences, they’ve buried a lot of pain, but this season, more than ever, they are seeking to rediscover the finest aspects of themselves from that period. Some of these aspects will be delved into through their relationship.
The Yellowjackets Bonus Episode Is Not Coming For Now
Unfortunately, the bonus episode of Yellowjackets that was expected between seasons two and three won’t be released immediately. However, as Lyle mentioned, there is indeed an extra episode in the works, but we might have to be patient for a while longer to watch it.
Either way, we are so excited for more of this show.
