Kieran Culkin Reveals He’s Holding Off on Letting His Kids Watch His and Brother Macaulay Culkin’s Home Alone: ‘There Are Some Scary Parts’

As people worldwide enjoy the timeless Christmas film “Home Alone” starring Kieran Culkin and his brother Macaulay Culkin, Kieran himself hasn’t let his children, Kinsey (5) and Wilder (3), watch the movie featuring their father and uncle. During a recent interview at the 34th annual Gotham Awards on December 2 in New York City, Kieran shared that he has not yet introduced the holiday classic to his kids.

The father of two clarified that there are still some unsettling sections. For his three-year-old child, the tarantula scene and the character who threatens, “I’ll bite off all your fingers,” are particularly frightening.

In a recent statement, the actor from Succession hinted that he may allow his children, whom he has with his wife Jazz Charton, to view the movie this year. If not, they could potentially watch it next year.

Kieran plays Fuller, Kevin McAllister’s cousin of Macaulay Culkin’s character, in the 1990 movie and its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. This week, during an interview with the Los Angeles Times, he shared that when filming the classic Christmas movie, he didn’t completely understand the storyline at the time.

At the film’s premiere, Culkin admitted he had no idea what the movie was all about. However, he considered this ignorance a stroke of luck, as it led him to roll with laughter during the screening.

In a surprising revelation, Culkin disclosed that Devin Ratray, known for portraying Buzz in the movie, had led him to believe that the film revolved around him. It wasn’t until the movie premiere that he learned his on-set brother was actually the main character, contrary to his initial assumptions.

The movie “Home Alone” catapulted Macaulay Culkin into stardom with his portrayal of 8-year-old Kevin. The film chronicled the adventures of this young boy who was inadvertently left at home by his family, and who then had to protect his house from a pair of burglars on Christmas Eve.

In another context, by January 2024, Kieran disclosed his readiness to embrace additional children with Chardon.

During his acceptance speech at the 75th Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Succession, the actor playfully reminded his wife of her vow to have more children with him if he ever won an Emmy.

At the event, Culkin mentioned to reporters that he hadn’t discussed this matter in several months, but since he has now met his wife’s requirements, he believes she will honor their agreement as promised.
