As a seasoned gamer with over three decades of gaming under my belt, I must admit that I’ve seen some oddities in the digital marketplace, but the sudden disappearance of Square Enix’s masterpiece, Triangle Strategy, from the Nintendo eShop is truly baffling.
It’s surprising that Square Enix’s strategic role-playing game, Triangle Strategy, has been taken down from the Nintendo eShop. However, the game is still playable on Steam, and individuals who have already bought it for the Switch can continue to download it.
Square Enix announced that the game is currently not accessible on the eShop, but they’re diligently working to make it available again.
The firm hasn’t given a clear explanation as to why they delisted their product or an estimated date for reinstatement. Reminiscent of March’s situation with the game Octopath Traveler, another title from Square Enix, which was temporarily taken off the eShop due to a shift in publishing responsibilities between Nintendo and Square Enix.
2022 saw the debut of Triangle Strategy, a title that swiftly captured the hearts of many gamers, selling an impressive 800,000 copies globally within just two weeks. A significant portion of these sales, around 200,000, were in Japan and Asia. The game has garnered acclaim for its complex narrative and strategic battles, though some players note that the pace can be on the slower side.
As a fellow gamer, I’ve got some news for those of you eager to dive into the world of Triangle Strategy: For now, we’ll need to exercise patience and wait for its return to the eShop. Alternatively, you could opt for the Steam version in the meantime. Square Enix has assured us that they will keep us updated once the game becomes available again on the Nintendo platform for purchase. Let’s stay tuned and keep our gaming spirits high!
