‘Loki’ Season 2 Deleted Scene Unveils Hercules’ Bond With the God of Mischief

As a diehard Marvel fan with years of comics and movies under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement over this newly released deleted scene from Loki Season 2! The casual conversation between Loki and Mobius feels like a treasure trove for fans, offering glimpses into the complex web of relationships that our trickster god has woven throughout the MCU.

According to recent updates from Variety, the Marvel Studios series ‘Loki’ sees Tom Hiddleston’s character transition from a well-known antagonist into an emerging protagonist over the course of two exciting seasons.

Regardless of how Loki tries to change his image, the remnants of his past wrongdoings cast a long shadow, continually resurfacing in his thoughts and determining his future actions.

An upcoming deleted scene from the second season, scheduled for release on 4K UHD Blu-ray, provides a more insightful perspective on the complex interpersonal dynamics between Loki and other Marvel Cinematic Universe characters.

In a relaxed chat, shared over a slice of key lime pie, Loki reminisces about individuals who’ve viewed him as a challenge in the past, alongside his friend Mobius (portrayed by Owen Wilson).

He mentions a variety of recognizable figures from Asgard, such as Thor’s allies Volstagg (Ray Stevenson), Hogun (Tadanobu Asano), Fandral (played by both Josh Dallas and Zachary Levi), along with closer ties like Laufey (Colm Feore), Loki’s biological father, and Bor (Tony Curran), who served as his adoptive grandfather.

As a gamer, I jokingly pointed out that old Heimdall kept his eye on me, well, more like twice! Seems like he had a special interest in keeping tabs on me.

Loki mentions his encounters with well-known humans like Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman), Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard), and Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings). He also recalls important S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel such as Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders). Additionally, he brings up Donald Blake, the disguise used by Thor on Earth.

The scene introduces mentions of characters like Amora the Enchantress and Absorbing Man, Carl Creel, who are known in the comics but have yet to appear in the MCU.

In the center of the action, Loki discusses the Greek semi-divine being, Hercules, who first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during a short scene following the credits in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, portrayed by actor Brett Goldstein.

Zeus, who played the role of Hercules’ father (portrayed by Russell Crowe), showed clear signs of annoyance towards Thor. This simmering tension could have led to a possible feud, fueled by previous disagreements involving Odin’s kin.
