Stan Lee’s Superhero Stripper Animated Series Is Making a Shocking Comeback on Social Media, and Fans Are Stunned!

As a child of the 90s, I vividly remember the days when Stan Lee was still gracing us with his extraordinary creations at Marvel. Fast forward to 2001, and here we are, revisiting one of his lesser-known projects – “Stripperella.” Now, I’m no puritan, but even I was taken aback by the title alone!

Back in 2001, I found myself venturing into uncharted territory as the co-founder (alongside Gill Champion and Arthur Lieberman) of POW! Entertainment – a company that was my very own after parting ways with Marvel. One of our initial ventures was the creation of an animated series called Stripperella, which found a home on Paramount’s TNN, eventually transitioning to Spike TV.

The series, starring Pamela Anderson as the lead voice, was actually meant to be a humorous commentary (a comedic satire) instead of merely mature content. While Lee originated the idea and created the characters, another group handled the production of the rest of the show.

As a die-hard fan, I must admit that despite the daring moniker, Lee envisioned this animated series to be a delightful, casual watch rather than an explicit one. Moreover, in an attempt to bring Anderson’s character to life with utmost precision, the show was designed to leverage motion capture technology.

The animated series, Stripperella, follows the life of Erotica Jones, or Stripperella, a dancer famed for her beauty and scant attire. Her colleagues frequently admire her for her ample chest size. Her brother, Chipperella (voiced by Jon Cryer), leads a dual existence as both a stripper and undercover agent, keeping his secret identity hidden.>

Characterized by extraordinary abilities, Stripperella possesses strength, speed, agility, along with some uncommon talents. These include breast expansion, resistance to various elements on her skin, and the uncanny knack for discerning deception through her chest area. Remarkably, her hair functions as a parachute, while her cleavage serves as an infinite storage space.

The series ran for just 13 episodes and garnered varying opinions among critics. It also found itself in the midst of controversy, with one notable incident being a lawsuit filed by Janet Clover (also recognized as “Jazz” or “Stripperella”) in 2003. She accused Stan Lee of stealing her character idea during a private dance session, claiming she was the rightful creator.

Recently, a clip from the show resurfaced online, sparking mixed reactions from fans.

What the fuck happened to us man. We need to GO BACK

It can be rephrased as: Stan Lee brought forth a golden era, but unfortunately, many people in their early to mid-30s today didn’t get a chance to fully appreciate it.

Stan Lee was entering a Hugh Hefner phase in the mid-2000’s.

Expressing thoughts about the series, Stripperella is portrayed as a genuinely kind and endearing character. Compared to most female heroes from Marvel and DC, it seems that her creators have crafted a more compelling and noble persona for this stripper-turned-spy. How far off course did they go with those other characters?

If those working on this series had given it a bit more attention and care, it might have spanned numerous seasons, perhaps even becoming one of the most provocative animated shows in American television history.

As a child, I used to watch it mainly due to its adult content. Today, however, I find myself truly captivated by its seamless animation quality. It brings to mind some of the finest episodes from Justice League Unlimited or Batman Beyond.

This is some damn good animation!

Golden Age of Americana

Absolutely, it’s clear we share the same opinion about the animation in this series being remarkable, and it certainly catches our attention right away.
