Lana Del Rey Teases Upcoming Album The Right Person Will Stay Following Marriage, Previously Titled Lasso

As a long-standing devotee of Lana Del Rey, I can hardly contain my excitement for her upcoming 10th studio album, The Right Person Will Stay! Having followed her musical journey since her debut, it’s fascinating to see how she continually reinvented herself while remaining true to her unique style.

On May 21, 2025, Lana Del Rey is set to unveil her tenth studio album, now titled “The Right Person Will Stay.” Originally known as “Lasso,” this upcoming release was anticipated for its fusion of country and Americana genres.

After the success of Del Ley’s 2023 Grammy-nominated album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, which garnered critical acclaim, she has announced her upcoming project. On Instagram, she unveiled details about this new album, including its cover designed by her sister. In her post, she expressed gratitude for the collaboration on her 13 tracks with Luke, Jack, Zach, and Drew Erickson, among others.

Lana mentioned, “You’re going to enjoy a few tunes prior to Stagecoach, beginning with Henry. Sincerely Yours.” Lana has collaborated extensively with producers such as Jack Antonoff, Zachary Dawes, Drew Erickson, and Luke Laird in the past. Their work on country-inspired albums fuels excitement for her upcoming innovative sound.

To initiate the launch of her upcoming solo series in preparation for her performance at the Stagecoach Festival, Lana Del Rey selected a song, tentatively titled “Henry,” as the opening release. However, whispers about an album with country undertones have been circulating since February 2024.

In August, she shared with Vogue that her upcoming album is likely to maintain some connection to American roots music. She didn’t suggest a drastic change, but rather a lighter tone in the lyrics and a stronger emphasis on traditional country, Americana, or Southern Gothic production styles. Interestingly, many of her existing songs already exhibit these characteristics.

At a Billboard pre-Grammy gathering, Lana Del Rey expressed her intention to explore the country music genre because the business aspect of the industry is showing signs of favoring the country market. Originally known as “Lasso”, this project, which draws inspiration from country music, was initially planned for release in September 2024; unfortunately, it did not come out as scheduled.

Outside of the world of music, Lana Del Rey has recently gotten married to airboat captain Jeremy Dufrene. This significant life event could potentially influence the themes of her upcoming album as she has transitioned from Lasso to The Right Person Will Stay.
