As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I find myself intrigued by this Palworld situation. On one hand, it’s heartening to see such a unique and engaging game gain popularity among players. Yet, when it comes to recognition from esteemed events like The Game Awards, it seems that not everyone shares the same enthusiasm.
Enthusiasts of the game Palworld are expressing disappointment since The Game Awards failed to include it among its nominees this year.
The game Palworld, which combines capturing monsters with an engaging combat system, has attracted a substantial number of players since its launch in January. However, despite being well-liked, it wasn’t recognized in categories such as ‘Best Continuing Game’ at the awards.
In response to the community’s apprehensions, John Buckley, the community manager of Palworld, voiced his perspective on Twitter. He expressed, ‘I don’t believe Palworld was ignored. Social media platforms like Twitter have become less about playful banter. Let’s try to tone down the melodrama, gamers. Not every situation is a hidden agenda.’ Buckley highlighted that not all absences signify prejudice or negligence.
I don’t believe Palworld was overlooked.
Nowadays, Twitter seems to lack the casual banter. Let’s try to keep things in perspective, gamers. Not every event is a secret plot.
However, it’s undeniable that Satisfactory was significantly underappreciated and I plan on expressing my displeasure about it at The Game Awards in person 😡

As a passionate gamer, I might put it this way: Though I tried to keep the Palworld drama low-key, let me tell you straight up about another game – Satisfactory. It was completely overlooked and I’m not going to hold back; I’ll be shouting out my opinion loud and clear at The Game Awards in person. This just goes to show that even industry insiders have their favorite games that they think deserve all the attention.
At present, the creators of Palworld, Pocketpair, are currently engaged in a legal dispute. In September, Nintendo initiated a lawsuit against them, claiming that Pocketpair has violated certain patents. In response, Pocketpair has clarified which patents are under contention and have expressed their intention to defend themselves further in court.
To put it simply, even though some fans are disheartened that Palworld wasn’t nominated for The Game Awards, the community manager asks for a more thoughtful reaction. At the same time, the game’s creators are working diligently to sort out any legal issues they might be facing.
