Can you imagine Cher being dumped? The legendary musician confirmed during her appearance on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show on November 20 that a “few men” have broken up with her and the one that hurt the most was Val Kilmer.
“Look, I was madly in love with Val Kilmer and he left,” she said of the actor who is known for playing Tom “Iceman” Kazansky in the Top Gun franchise. “Why would he leave if he’s having fabulous sex with one of the most beautiful women in the world?” the radio show host reacted.
Responding to Stren’s declaration, the Believe singer remarked that certain individuals are destined to be with someone for a specific period, and added that Tom Cruise, known for his role in Top Gun, was relatively young during their relationship.
In 1982 to 1984, this former pair, who happened to be together, met each other for the first time at a gathering celebrating a mutual friend’s birthday. Despite having a 13-year age gap, Cher has openly admitted to dating partners younger than herself.
Previously, the singer who is currently in a relationship with Alexander “AE” Edwards, aged 38, shared her thoughts on dating with People magazine. In 2021, she stated that if she hadn’t dated younger men, she would have never gone out on a date at all.
In my personal experience, I’ve noticed that younger fellows aren’t deterred by older women, which is quite unlike men of my own age group who seem less receptive. Reflecting on my relationship with Kilmar, we found common ground in our shared humor that sparked our connection from the start.
In an interview, the singer of “Strong Enough” openly expressed her feelings, stating, “I have loved him, and I still do. He’s unique, unlike anyone I’ve ever known.” She went on to describe Kilmar’s distinctive qualities that she admired. “He is both exasperating and hilarious, thrilling and amusing, and doesn’t follow the same path as others,” Cher explained.
