As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for talent and a deep appreciation for captivating performances, I am genuinely thrilled about Jodie Turner-Smith‘s latest venture, The Agency, on Paramount+. Her journey this year has been nothing short of inspiring, from her debut in the Star Wars universe to enchanting us as Dragon Quene in Bad Monkey.
This year, Jodie Turner-Smith has been particularly busy, from her Star Wars debut in The Acolyte to portraying a mystical Dragon Quene in Bad Monkey on Apple TV+. Currently, she is starring as Michael Fassbender’s complex romantic interest in the Paramount+ series The Agency.
In an interview with People magazine, Jodie revealed the factors that attracted her to her recent project, and Michael Fassbender was among them. While she appreciated the script as being “very well-written,” she also desired to realize her long-standing ambition of collaborating with the Irish actor. “[He is] someone I’ve longed to work with for a considerable time,” she stated, noting that she has been a “long-time admirer.
In a playful manner, the actress from “White Noise” hinted at her character on the series: “She’s remarkably intelligent, with a scholarly background. She fluently speaks Arabic, a language known for its beauty, and she carries a complex nature.
In a covert mission in Ethiopia, Jodie’s character Samia became Fassbender’s character’s hidden romantic interest.
In “Murder Mystery 2,” the actress confessed she felt apprehensive when she realized she’d be working alongside an impressive cast that includes Richard Gere and Jeffrey Wright, a prospect she found intimidating.
She shared that she’s often anxious prior to starting a task, but finds this to be beneficial. As she put it, “If you’re not feeling a tad apprehensive, well, I can’t help but wonder if there’s something lacking in the passion for what we do.
Jodie shared that even though she’s completed numerous projects, she still considers herself a beginner. She put it, “I feel like I’ve only been at this for about two seconds. There’s so much more for me to learn.” Before stepping up to share the screen with Fassbender, she admitted to feeling apprehensive, but his friendly and gracious demeanor always made her feel comfortable.
According to the official description, “The Agency,” inspired by the 2015 show “The Bureau,” delves into a universe of greater mystery and deception. Characters within this series face personal struggles while dealing with imminent dangers to their country and the world. This captivating series will make its debut on Showtime on November 27th.
